CHRIS MICHON’S FINAL WISH
Chris Michon passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026…just two days before Valentine’s Day. He was the love of my sister’s life who she affectionately called her “Hottie.” They were a dynamic duo who shared a deep love that was simply magical. It was a real-life fairytale.
Meryl and Chris, both television and documentary producers, met in an edit room at Lucky Duck Productions in New York City. After a date from hell just a few days earlier, Meryl had sworn off dating for life…but the moment she met Chris, he had her at “Hi there!” and sparks ignited immediately. Even after 32 years together, my sister would always say she and Chris were still on their second date.
Chris was a devoted family man and he was fiercely protective. In recent years, Chris and Meryl’s business imploded causing incredible stress and financial hardship. Though they always managed to keep the boat afloat with tremendous optimism, they took a huge financial hit over the past few years. And this stress didn’t help as Chris recently battled a sudden illness.
Chris’ final wish was that friends and family might help Meryl take care of mounting expenses which include medical bills and funeral costs. And more than that, he hoped to build a fund for their daughter Madeleine’s future. Sweet Madeleine was born with disabilities and challenges which make her unable to work. There is no way to truly quantify her future financial needs, but Chris and Meryl want to be sure Madeleine will always have money for housing and her day-to-day care and basic needs. She’s a very special young lady, full of love and light and Chris treasured her. And since she is so young, he worried deeply about her future financial security.
With my sister’s blessing, I have set up a Go Fund Me page to help take care of Meryl and Madeleine’s financial needs during this difficult time and to help build a nest egg for their precious Madeleine Cher.
Any donation, large or small, would be appreciated beyond words.
Thank you so very much.
