Our family has suffered an unimaginable and devastating loss. On the morning of August 13, our beloved Chris Claxton was tragically murdered in Honolulu, Hawai‘i, while on his way to work.

Chris was a cherished son, brother, uncle, cousin, and, most importantly, a deeply beloved husband. He was the kind of person whose presence brought love, kindness, and warmth to everyone around him. Chris loved baking for others and found solace and joy in creating incredible birthday cakes, pastries, and countless other delicious treats. As our family has always said, “The way to someone’s heart is through their stomach,” and Chris had a special gift for bringing people together through his cooking and baking.

He was the cousin everyone looked up to—the person who embodied the “cool and calm” spirit that so many of us admired and strived to be. Chris was exceptionally talented in music and had a deep love for filmmaking. He was beginning work on another album, continuing to share the creativity that came so naturally to him. His imagination and artistic talent were truly beyond compare. His creativity was woven into everything he touched, and those gifts will forever be a part of the memories we hold of him.

We are praying for justice and asking that the Honolulu Police Department and judicial system hold the person responsible fully accountable and ensure that he can never put another innocent life at risk.

Chris was the sole provider for his family. His wife is now facing the unimaginable task of grieving the loss of her husband while also navigating the financial challenges that come with such a sudden and heartbreaking loss.

We are asking our family, friends, and community to rally around her during this incredibly difficult time. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help ease the financial burden and allow her the time and space she needs to grieve, heal, and begin navigating life without her husband by her side.
