In Loving Memory of Charrise – A Celebration of Life & Legacy
Hello, my name is Rozhia Taylor, and I had the immense honor of calling Charrise not just my friend, but my family. She was the kind of person who walked into your life and never left your heart. She was a steady and faithful presence in our lives. To my niece and nephew, she was their Auntie Reese. To all of us, she was a light in this often dark world — warm, selfless, and full of grace.
We are now preparing a celebration of life that reflects the vibrant, soulful, and giving spirit she shared with everyone she encountered. I’m reaching out to you — family, friends, and compassionate hearts — to help us honor her in the way she truly deserves.
Charrise lived to serve. She was a pillar at her church, The Father’s House in Roseville, CA, where she poured her heart into the children's and youth ministries. Week after week, she showed up not just as a leader, but as a safe place, a steady voice, and a fierce advocate for every youth that came through those doors. Her care extended far beyond Sunday mornings — if a child or family needed support outside the walls of the church, she was there. No ask was too big, no person too small to receive her love and attention. She made sure they were seen, heard, and cared for — emotionally, spiritually, and sometimes even materially.
Professionally, Charrise was an associate therapist who specialized in working with children, offering healing and hope through her words, her presence, and her unwavering belief in their worth. Her deepest dream was to reform the foster care system and become a voice for children who had none — to fight for those growing up without stability, family, or hope. Every step of her life pointed in that direction. She was already changing lives, and her legacy will continue to do so.
The funds raised through this campaign will go toward Charrise’s celebration of life — a gathering where we can come together to grieve, remember, and celebrate the woman who gave so much of herself to others. Any remaining funds will be donated in her honor to causes that were close to her heart — children’s organizations and foster care advocacy programs, to continue the work she was so deeply passionate about.
Charrise gave from a place of deep love. Now, we have the opportunity to give back — to honor her memory, carry her torch, and keep her mission alive.
Thank you for your love, your support, and for helping us remember a truly one-of-a-kind soul.
With gratitude,
