For those that don't know me my name is Brenda Marshall and my husband Charles "Chucky" Marshall left this earth Wednesday March 4th, 2026 at 4:39 a.m. with myself and our children by his side. For over a decade my husband had battled numerous surgeries, strokes, and congestive heart failure just to list a few things - but always stayed positive and comical throughout. He was an amazing husband and father to our children and many bonus children we had the privilege of loving and raising over the 30 years we were married. Unfortunately in October his health became more trying as we faced his first above the knee amputation due to blood clots and difficulties with diabetes - but we overcame and after his physical therapy rehab he came home and life continued. Then a week before valentines he developed another clot in his other calf area that ultimately ended with him having to have a second amputation and in the process of recovery from surgery endured another stroke and even with antibiotics and the best respiratory therapist we could find his body was too tired to fight and he bravely crossed over. This was not anything we were prepared for this soon in life. My husband was only 50 years old and if you knew him before his strokes he was one of the strongest men you ever knew. He loved his family and no matter if it was our child biologically or just our child that we claimed those children were always safe in his presence and they knew that. We have had to make some difficult decisions and of course one of those is deciding on his final arrangements. We have chosen one of the most caring funeral homes in our area and have made the choice to keep his arrangements simple like he lived... Simple... Unfortunately with us not being prepared because honestly we thought we had years before we would have to think about any of this the $2100 for his cremation services seems like a nightmare right now... So we are asking if anyone would be willing to donate toward his final expenses or would like to call the funeral home and make a donation directly to please do so... The funeral home information is Greener Pastures Funeral Home [phone redacted], or please just share this if possible. Anything will be appreciated.
