Honoring Chad: A Loving Father, Best Friend, Son and Brother

My name is Alicia Menke. It is with a very heavy heart that I am making this GoFundMe for Chad Hopper's funeral. Chad Hopper was my ex-husband and best friend. We found out that he was found deceased in his home on May 5, 2025, at 7:00 am. His death was sudden and absolutely devastating. Although we had separated, we remained best friends. We started off as best friends and ended our relationship the same way. Our lives will never be the same without him and his awesome personality.

For those who don't know, I was born without arms. Chad had been my caregiver since we were both 23 years old. Later, Chad and I had a baby boy, Cameron Aaron Hopper, on January 23, 2008. Cameron was the love of his Daddy's life. He was so very proud of our son and was always showing everyone Cameron's artwork that was displayed in an art gallery. Cameron meant the whole world to his Daddy. Chad was an amazing Daddy; even our single mom friends always called him "Chad the Dad" because he stepped up and took on the fatherly role to their kids.

Chad left behind his son Cameron, mother Darletta, and two younger brothers, Roy and Cody, who all loved him very much. He was a huge family man and loved being around them, being silly, playing games, and laughing. Being disabled, I am on a fixed income. I am making this GoFundMe to ask for help. I need some help to lay him to rest since this was completely unexpected. I never thought that I'd be doing this when we were in our 40s. But God called him home.
