On June 9, 2024, Caryn Chomsky was tragically killed in broad daylight while running on a sidewalk in Delray Beach, Florida. June 9, 2026, marks two years since Caryn was taken from us. While the passage of time has not diminished our grief, it has strengthened our resolve to ensure that her extraordinary legacy continues to make a difference in the lives of others.
Some people pass through our lives and leave cherished memories. Others leave an imprint so profound that their absence permanently alters the landscape of the lives they touched. Caryn was one of those rare individuals. She possessed an extraordinary capacity for empathy, generosity, and grace, and although two years have passed since her tragic death, the impact of her loss remains deeply felt by her family, friends, colleagues, patients, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Caryn was a devoted mother, beloved wife, cherished daughter, sister, sister in-law, aunt, trusted friend, and an exceptional physical therapist. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel seen, valued, and cared for. Whether she was helping a patient regain mobility after a life-altering injury, supporting a loved one through a difficult chapter, or offering encouragement at precisely the moment it was needed, Caryn approached others with a rare combination of compassion, humility, and unwavering dedication.
For Caryn, physical therapy was far more than a profession—it was a calling. She devoted her career to helping others reclaim not only their strength and independence, but also their confidence, dignity, and hope. She celebrated every milestone with her patients, no matter how small, and remained steadfast beside them through every challenge. The impact she made extended far beyond the walls of her clinics. It lives on in the countless individuals whose lives were changed by her care, her kindness, and her belief in their ability to persevere.
The tragedy of Caryn’s death is measured not only by the life that was taken, but also by all that should have been: the years she deserved to live, the milestones she deserved to witness, the memories she deserved to create, and the lives she still would have touched. While nothing can undo that loss, we are determined to ensure that the values by which Caryn lived—compassion, service, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to helping others—continue to endure.
In honor of the second anniversary of her passing, our family is establishing the Caryn Chomsky Physical Therapy Scholarship. We intend to create a permanent endowed scholarship that will support aspiring physical therapists in perpetuity, providing opportunities for future students to pursue the profession that Caryn loved so deeply.
More than a scholarship, this is a living tribute. It is a way for Caryn’s legacy to continue shaping lives long into the future. Through the students it supports and the patients they will one day serve, Caryn’s dedication to healing others will continue to ripple outward, extending her impact in ways that neither time nor tragedy can erase.
Every contribution brings us closer to creating something lasting in Caryn’s name. Together, we can transform profound loss into enduring purpose and ensure that the extraordinary impact of her life continues far beyond her years.
Thank you for helping us honor Caryn’s memory and preserve the legacy of a woman whose compassion, generosity, and devotion to others left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Chomsky/Stolper Family
