My name is Rhonda, I am the aunt of Carlos Martinez. Writing this is something I never imagined I would have to do. Our family is grieving a loss that has left an emptiness words cannot describe. In the midst of this heartbreak, we are trying to raise funds to give Carlos a memorial filled with love, dignity, and the beauty he deserves. All funds will be used strictly for Carlos’ memorial.

With the heaviest of hearts, we share the passing of Carlos Jesus Martinez. Carlos faced many difficult health challenges throughout his life, including heart failure, vision loss, diabetes, and mental health struggles. His journey was further shaped by a deep loss, as he lost both his grandmother and his mother within five years of each other, grief that weighed heavily on his heart and life.

Despite these struggles, Carlos brought laughter and light wherever he could. He was known for always telling jokes, sharing funny videos, and finding ways to make others smile and laugh, even when he himself was hurting. Holding a Blackbelt in Karate, he developed a deep passion for MMA fighting and boxing, he could talk about matches, fighters, and techniques for hours. At family gatherings, Carlos showed his love through food, proudly making his grandmother’s delicious potato salad and what we all lovingly call ‘Carlos’ famous chocolate truffle. These are the moments we will hold onto forever.

Carlos mattered. He was deeply loved, and his life left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew him. Our family is grieving an unimaginable loss while also facing unexpected memorial expenses during this incredibly painful time.
