It is with shattered hearts that our family shares the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Cameron "Jimmy" Mertens, a beloved son, brother, family member, and friend. At just 18 years old, Cameron had recently graduated from high school and was beginning the next chapter of his life when his life was tragically cut short.

Cameron had a way of making people laugh, bringing energy wherever he went, and keeping life interesting. He brought joy to those around him and created memories that will be cherished forever.

No parent should ever have to endure the pain of losing a child, and no family is ever prepared for a loss so unimaginable.

I have created this fundraiser in memory of my nephew, Cameron James Mertens, to support Cameron’s father, my brother, Anthony Mertens, during this devastating time. Donations will go toward funeral and memorial expenses and any unforeseen costs that arise when a loved one is lost so suddenly. I will manage funds and the fundraiser, and they will be given directly to the family to cover funeral and related expenses.
