This week, my sister Piper and her fiancé, Traivyn, experienced the unimaginable heartbreak of losing their baby girl, Isla Mae, in the second trimester of pregnancy. This is their second second-trimester loss in less than a year. Last year, they said goodbye to their baby boy, Calan, and now they are enduring this grief all over again.
No parent should ever have to experience the pain of losing a child, let alone twice. Piper and Traivyn dreamed of raising their sweet children, and they poured their love and hope into both pregnancies. Their hearts are shattered, and the road ahead will be long as they process this grief and begin healing once again.
Unfortunately, along with deep emotional pain comes the heavy financial strain that follows such losses. After losing Calan, they faced unexpected medical complications, overwhelming medical bills, and significant time away from work to recover physically and emotionally. Their savings were completely drained just trying to survive that storm.
Now, with the loss of Isla Mae, they are facing those same realities once more—medical costs, unpaid time off work, and the basic stress of keeping up with bills while grieving. We want to help them focus on healing, not worrying about finances.
This fundraiser is to help Piper and Traivyn cover:
Medical bills and hospital costs
Time away from work for recovery and grieving
Living expenses so they don’t fall behind while they heal
Every single contribution, no matter the size, will lift some of the financial burden from their shoulders and allow them the space to grieve without the added stress of wondering how to make ends meet.
If you are unable to give, we ask that you please share this fundraiser and keep Piper and Traivyn in your thoughts and prayers as they walk through this heartbreaking journey.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, support, and kindness.
In loving memory of Calan and Isla Mae
