Honoring Burke Flynt: Support for Jackie and the Family
Don protégé
On July 3, while cycling across America to raise awareness for MS, Burke was struck by a vehicle. This adventure was more than a bucket-list item—it was his way of giving back. A 15-year Army veteran, he devoted his life to serving others and demonstrating Christ’s love in every action.
Burke and his wife, Jackie, co-founded SALT, a program offering hope and practical aid to survivors of domestic violence, those battling addiction, and neighbors living in poverty. He funded mission trips to disaster zones in the U.S. and abroad, often paying his own way to bring relief and encouragement.
Burke’s final act was the gift of life itself. After he passed on July 15, his liver went to a waiting recipient. His kidneys are being evaluated and, if viable, will offer new beginnings to others. This last sacrifice truly reflects who he was: selfless, unwavering, and compassionate.
