My name is Tyra, and I am raising funds to honor the life and legacy of my father, Brian Mayes.

Brian was a devout father and grandfather, a proud provider, and a man of unwavering integrity. He leaves behind four children and four grandchildren, all of whom were the center of his world. He lived selflessly, always giving his time, wisdom, and strength to others—especially within his community—never seeking recognition and never asking for help himself.

In the midst of planning his homegoing service, our family encountered an unexpected administrative complication related to final arrangements that could not have been anticipated or prevented. While my father took great pride in always providing for his family, this unforeseen circumstance created an immediate gap during a time when decisions must be made quickly and with care.

This fundraiser is not a reflection of lack of preparation, but rather a moment where we are humbly allowing others to help us honor a man who spent his life helping everyone else. All funds raised will go directly toward ensuring Brian is laid to rest with the dignity, respect, and honor he so deeply deserves.
