On behalf of Jason and Kayla Cox, I—Aminda, Brenden’s aunt—have created this GoFundMe to help support their family during an unimaginable time. Funds raised will go toward expenses related to Brenden’s passing, as well as everyday necessities such as bills, food, and allowing Jason and Kayla the time and space to grieve at home without the added pressure of returning to work before they are ready.
This family has endured an overwhelming amount of loss in a very short period of time. Within the same week, Jason unexpectedly lost his father—and now his son. No one should ever have to carry this much heartbreak and grief all at once.
Brenden Cole truly wore his heart on his sleeve. He was an incredibly loving big and little brother and was just beginning his journey into adulthood, with plans to graduate high school this May. Brenden was kind, caring, a jokester, and loved his family beyond measure.
From the very beginning, Brenden was a fighter. Born prematurely, he spent the first two months of his life in the hospital. Throughout his life, he battled asthma, which often led to hospital stays. Tragically, Brenden suffered a severe asthma attack in the early morning hours of Monday, January 26th, and passed away. This occurred just one day before his grandfather’s celebration of life, making the loss even more devastating. The weight of it all is still unfathomable, and our family is still trying to process this profound loss.
If you find it in your heart to help in any way—whether through prayers, meals, or a monetary donation—it would be deeply and sincerely appreciated. Your support means more than words can express during this incredibly difficult time.
On behalf of Jason and Kayla, we want to express our sincere gratitude for the prayers, meals, messages, and monetary support received during this unimaginable time. Your kindness has brought comfort and strength to their family. Brenden’s arrangements have been finalized, and the link is shared below.
