Honoring Brenda Hope Holland's Memory

My name is Patrick. I found my mother, Brenda Hope Holland, passed away in her home on Sunday, March 16th, the day before St. Patrick’s Day. My mom named me Patrick after her favorite uncle, who was named Patrick because he was born on St. Patrick’s Day.

My mother was always a positive life force in my world that I always felt would be there. Reality is not so kind.

Things have been difficult the past year. My grandmother’s house was hit by a tornado, I’ve been dealing with my knee injury/surgery/rehab, and I was nearly evicted from my apartment.

Losing my mother makes those things seem trivial at best.

I’m trying to make sense of it all when it makes no sense at all.
