Hi,

My name is Melinda Tierney and I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of all the friends and OAS community that have had the honor of knowing Bradley Butler.

Bradley was not only an incredible man, he was my Field Training Officer, a mentor, and someone I will always be grateful for. I truly would not be where I am today without his guidance, patience, and unwavering support. He helped shape me into the person and professional I became, and I know I’m not alone in that.

There is not a staff member, citizen, or volunteer who hasn’t been supported or impacted by Bradley in some meaningful way. He had a way of showing up for people quietly, consistently, and with genuine care. At Oakland Animal Services, Bradley supported all of us, and he did it with kindness, strength, and a steady presence that made everyone feel safer and more capable.

Now, we want to come together and support his family the way he supported all of us. Bradley loved his family and his community with all of his heart, and the way he lived his life was truly inspirational. His presence, compassion, and dedication will be deeply missed.

This GoFundMe is being created to help support Bradley's Family, the way Bradley has supported all of us. Any donation, no matter the amount, will go toward easing the financial burden and offering support as they navigate the days ahead.
