On January 27, 2026, we lost a great one. Mike Houghton aka Big Mike passed away peacefully in his sleep. He lived his life to the fullest no matter how hard life got.
Mike was a huge part of Nicole's and Annabelles life (since she was 3) and was her father from there on out. Not a single day went by that he was not talking to someone about how amazing she was. Big Mike made them his life and took them on these adventures through everyday life and his Car Community. Without him, Nicole never would have found herself a part of the car community nor have the love for cars like she does now.
Mike has been within the car scene since 2009! He was known by many, regardless of if you agreed with him or not. You can’t deny what he has done for the New England car scene. He has put on some of the most legendary car meets & shows over the last decade. Wicked Pissah, Hummdingah, Kaplan Garage Meets, to name a few! We have lost a legend. A major staple in the car scene, at least here in Maine/New England. If Mike was not putting on a show or event, he was helping the community out in many different ways from making decals for your rides, to old school inspection stickers for the classics through his brand Fat Kid Graffix. He listened to everyone and had a very big heart... he also enjoyed everyone's rides. He even shared his beloved cars with others. So, let's not forget his killer rides over the years. What started it all was his 78 Cadillac Sedan De Ville which he named Rattle-Lac, Focus ZX3, Cargo Khaki Integra, wagovan, CB5 Accord and lastly his VIP Nissan Cedric!
The car scene will not be the same without the man, the myth, the badass legend himself, Big Mike!!
"The only way to elevate the scene is to elevate the scene."
Mikes favorite quote.
We are asking for your support for donations to help cover the cost of his funeral expenses, celebration of life, and any unexpected expenses. God willing if any funds are left over, they will be set aside for Annabelle and her schooling.
Update: We will be holding a cruise-in car meet to celebrate Big Mike! The date for the event will be on September 12th. with a rain date of September 13th. It will be in Leeds, Maine. We will announce the physical local in the next couple of months. We are still working on final arrangements for the event with the goal to make this huge for Big Mike! Please keep an eye out on social media for updates!!
