This year marks 20 years since the passing of our beloved mother, Betty Jennings — a woman whose warmth, strength, and love left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.

When she passed, our family was navigating not only the grief of losing her, but also the weight of financial hardship. As a result, we were never able to give her a proper headstone — a permanent and sacred marker of the incredible life she lived. She was taken away from us so swiftly and so young (36). She gave breast cancer a fight every time it showed up and was a 3-time survivor. She kept that beautiful smile on her face in the midst of adversity until the very end, and her spirit has continued to live on in every one of us still here to carry her legacy.

Today, two decades later, our family is coming together to finally do what our hearts have always wanted to do: give my Mother (Betty) the headstone she truly deserves.

Her birthday is approaching, August 25, and our goal is to have the headstone placed by then as a symbol of love, honor, and celebration of her memory. We wanted this to be a collective effort, a tribute not just from her children and family, but from anyone who knew her or was touched by her light. This is an opportunity for anyone that wants to contribute to her life, love, and legacy.
