Honoring Bernadette: A Beloved Friend and Mother

We are heartbroken to share that due to complications from her leukemia treatments Bernadette Henderson - Merikle has passed away. Bernadette was a beloved mother, daughter, big sister, niece, cousin and, as evidenced by the outpouring of love and supportive messages we have received, an amazing friend to so many across the country. Bernadette was committed to eradicating K-12 educational inequities and gaps for diverse communities across the nation through her evolutionary leadership.

We are reaching out for support as we navigate this difficult time. Funds raised will go towards cremation costs, memorial arrangements and setting up a trust fund for her 2 small children, Julia and John. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help us honor Bernadette and provide a proper send off.
