Beth Goheen has faced unimaginable hardship for nearly three decades. After her husband, Paul Goheen, died from cancer in 1996, she was left with three young daughters. After her second child developed cancer, Beth had all three of them tested for a genetic explanation. Li Fraumeni Syndrome was inherited from their father. This is a horrendous condition where the body becomes a tumor factory. Each girl suffered through multiple cancers for years. Katie died in 2018. She was joined shortly after by her oldest sister Tessie.
The youngest, Becky, continued to fight through bone cancers, lung cancers, a tumor wrapped around her brain stem and so many other tumors. On the morning of January 10, 2026, Becky passed peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones. As you can imagine, Beth is devastated emotionally, physically and financially.
For nearly 30 years, Beth has carried the emotional and financial weight of continuous medical treatments while balancing work, home, and the devastating loss of her children. The toll has been profound. Yet through love, Beth found the courage to rise each day and continue fighting for her daughters.
Now, Beth’s immediate needs include settling remaining medical expenses, honoring Becky with a celebration of life and interment, and allowing herself the time and space to grieve without the burden of financial stress.
Please help. Any amount will be appreciated. Your gift will provide Beth with the support she needs as she navigates this heartbreaking new chapter.
Beth previously shared, “The support that we’ve received from people has been overwhelming. It’s hard to even describe how much it means. Someone may think that a $10 donation isn’t much, but knowing they cared enough to give means everything to us.”
