My grandma Beatriz was a wonder to everyone that met her. The sweetest soul, a diva, fashion queen, and a devoted follower of Christ. Doctors told her she wouldn’t live past her twenties, but she proved them wrong and lived over 50 more incredible years.
She immigrated from Medellín, Colombia to Los Angeles, and spent her final years in Long Beach, California. Beatriz had health issues her whole life, but was still a strong woman. A fun woman. A God-fearing woman. She lived fully - dancing, traveling, worshipping, and building a life with community and joy. She leaves behind a beautiful daughter and two granddaughters, all of whom she lovingly helped raise. We already miss her so so much.
Although Bee had been preparing for this moment, it still came sooner than expected. We are now left to complete the arrangements she began. As many know, funeral and memorial services are incredibly expensive. Our family is doing everything we can, but, transparently, we are financially tight and humbly asking for support from friends, loved ones, and our community. No matter how little she had, Beatriz always gave back to her community.
If you’re unable to donate, we understand. Sharing this campaign with others, offering prayers, or sending kind words means the world to us. Thank you for being a part of this. Our family feels every bit of your support. God Bless.
With love,
Jade, Cristina, Jewel, & Beatriz’s family
