Honoring Baby Marcus: Help with Memorial Costs

Little Marcus suddenly came into the world at 32 weeks due to a placenta complication. Despite this, he showed everyone that he was a fighter and was allowed to come home from the NICU after only two weeks.

From the very beginning, it was clear that Marcus was ready to show the world just how strong a premie baby can be. Within his first couple of days, he held his head up and looked around the room. The tubes and monitors never slowed him down.

Waiting for him at home were his two brothers, William, and Ryan, and sister, Anna.

With everyone home and healthy, things only looked up for Marcus. He was on track with his weight gain and feeding.

Everything was falling into place for our family. Anna finally accepted that he wasn't her new baby doll but her baby brother. The boys would even pitch in and change a pee diaper. Mom and dad worked together to get passed those first six weeks.

Marcus was introduced to their family dog, Bolt.

Things were more certainly more chaotic but we loved our big crazy life together.

Around Thanksgiving it began to calm down to a more manageable choas. We were living our best lives. Marcus was still so little but he was hitting every milestone. He was still wearing premie and newborn sizes at 2 months old.

On Friday December 27th, our world came crashing down. Early morning after feeding Marcus, his dad was rocking him to sleep in the recliner. They fell asleep together. Dad woke up to find Marcus had slipped down between him and the recliner arm. He wasn't breathing and we tried to do cpr while waitng on paramedics to get there. They took him to the hospital but there was nothing anyone could do to save him.

Just like that our lives are forever changed. Now we are going to celebrate his life. We are asking for donations to go to his memorial service. We barely managed Christmas and now having to figure out how to pay for his services... we would appreciate anything you can do to help us.
