My name is Veronica, and I am the auntie of sweet 11-month-old Delilah. It is with immense sorrow that I write this on behalf of my sister,,Viviana Oliveros.
In the mid-morning of December 30, 2025, my sister received the call no parent should ever have to get. Delilah’s childcare provider informed her that Delilah had stopped breathing and was being rushed to the hospital. CPR had been performed for over 20 minutes, and it was determined that she had gone into cardiac arrest. After being intubated at Eden Hospital, she was rushed to Children’s Hospital Oakland, where she was placed in the PICU.
After days of extensive testing, all results came back normal. What happened to our sweet Delilah remained a mystery to the medical team, just as it does to our family. The following day, her brain began to swell due to the lack of oxygen. Later that day, doctors determined the damage was irreversible, and there were no further interventions they could do.
On January 1st at 11:45 PM, our beautiful Delilah took her final breath.
Delilah is survived by her loving mother Viviana (“Mari”), her brother Thomas, her sister Leyah, and a huge family who loved her deeply and will miss her forever. She lived the most perfect life, never knowing the cruelty of this world, only the love of her family. She was the sweetest, calmest baby. She rarely cried. She loved to wiggle her chunky legs, let you smell her stinky toes, watch Ms. Rachel, and listen to you sing her songs. She was truly an angel on earth, and now our newest angel in heaven.
We are left without answers, struggling to understand why God would take such a beautiful baby girl from us. Even if we had an explanation, nothing could make this loss make sense. Nothing could ever prepare us for this level of heartbreak.
Our family is asking for help to cover Delilah’s services and to allow my sister Mari the time she needs to grieve while caring for her surviving children. Mari had just started a new job less than 30 days ago and does not qualify for FMLA at this time. Any support to help ease the financial burden during this unimaginable time would mean more than words can express.
Anything helps. Please donate if you are able, and if not, please share. Thank you for your love, prayers, and support. May God bless our family and carry us through this. ❤️
