My name is Monique Peyre. I am the adoptive mother of Benjamin’s older siblings—and someone who loves him deeply.
Baby Benjamin’s life on this earth was far too short, but we hold tightly to the truth that his life had purpose. Scripture tells us in Psalm 139 that “all the days ordained for us were written before one of them came to be.” Benjamin’s days mattered. His life mattered. And his story will continue to matter.
Right now, we are waiting for the Governor to sign Benji’s Law—a bill inspired by Benjamin’s life that will help protect vulnerable newborns and bring greater accountability and oversight where it is so desperately needed. Because of him, change is coming. Because of him, lives will be protected.
We want to honor Benjamin in a way that reflects both the weight of his loss and the impact of his life.
At this time, there is no permanent place where people can go to remember him—to grieve, to pray, to sit in quiet reflection, or to simply acknowledge that he was here. We would like to create a memorial marker for Baby Benjamin—a sacred place where loved ones and members of our community can come pay their respects.
This memorial will be more than a marker.
It will be a place of remembrance.
A place of healing.
A place that declares that his life, though brief, carried eternal significance.
We believe God is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and we trust that even in this unimaginable loss, He is bringing purpose from pain. Benjamin’s life is already changing the world—and we want to ensure he is remembered with the dignity and love he deserves.
If you feel led to give, share, or pray, we are deeply grateful. And if giving isn’t possible, simply speaking his name and remembering his life is a powerful act of love.
Thank you for helping us honor Baby Benjamin.
—Monique
