Our hearts are broken for Nichole and her daughters—Aven, Eden, and Nevaeh.

At just 14 years old, Aven was tragically taken from this world in a horrific act of violence. Today, August 12, Aven would have celebrated her 15th birthday. Instead, her family is facing an unimaginable loss and trying to navigate the devastating aftermath of what happened.

This tragedy was the result of domestic violence—an act of violence committed by someone the family loved and trusted. No family should ever have to experience this kind of heartbreak, and we hope that by sharing our story, we can not only support Nichole and her daughters through this devastating time, but also help raise awareness about domestic violence and the importance of preventing it from happening to others.

Nichole was also a victim of this violent crime. She was shot in the leg and suffered severe burns across her body. She now faces a long and difficult road of physical and emotional recovery. To make an already unimaginable situation even more devastating, their home was intentionally set on fire, leaving Nichole and her family without a home.

Their beloved dogs, Dolly and Cora, also survived this horrific event and now need care and support. They have been loyal and loving companions to the family for years, and in the midst of so much loss, they remain an important part of their lives. Helping provide food, veterinary care, and other necessities for Dolly and Cora is another important part of helping this family begin to heal and rebuild.

Her surviving daughters, Nevaeh and Eden, are also facing the heartbreaking loss of their sister while watching their mother endure a long and painful recovery. They have lost not only Aven, but also the safety and security of their home and the life they once knew.

We are asking for your help as this family begins the long road ahead.

Funds raised will help cover Nichole’s medical expenses and recovery, Aven’s funeral and final expenses, the replacement of essential belongings, care for Dolly and Cora, and safe housing and stability for Nichole, Nevaeh, and Eden as they begin to rebuild their lives.

There are no words that can make this tragedy right. Aven was only 14 years old. She had so much life ahead of her, so many birthdays left to celebrate, and so many memories yet to be made. Instead, her family is preparing to say goodbye to a daughter and sister who should have had a lifetime ahead of her.
