We have met our goal! Thank you everyone who donated or shared. We are no longer accepting donations.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father Aurelio Ramon Diaz, (68), who passed away unexpectedly on January 29 2026, reuniting with his parents, brother, and sister in eternal heaven. Born on May 7, 1957, Aurelio dedicated his life to being a loving son, brother, uncle, and father to his family. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, in particular his two daughters Cynthia and Laura, and their growing families. A simple but thoughtful man, Aurelio’s love language was gift giving, and would always put time and effort into choosing gifts to share with his family. The happiness from this small act of kindness and thoughtfulness, is what brought joy to his days.
A part from his family and role as a father being his purpose in life, Aurelio also fostered a sense of connection and community with those around him. His passion for Chicano and ethnic studies led him to activism in the community, advocating for social justice with the UFW and becoming an active volunteer for the Cesar Chávez March outreach. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. His laughter, love of life, and resilience will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
As we say goodbye to Aurelio, we celebrate the life of a man who was a symbol of strength, compassion, and love. We will remember his love of old school music, in particular the songs of Carlos Santana, and his enthusiasm sharing his culture and his Mexicah ancestry with his family. His legacy is one of community, dedication, and devotion to his family, a testament to the love and lessons he gave to his daughters. Aurelio’s memory will be treasured forever, and we will hold him close in our hearts and remember the light he brought into this world.
He is survived by his daughters; Cynthia (Daniel) and Laura (Justin), and four grandchildren; Citlalli, Jimena, Javier, and Nazareth.
Due to the unexpected loss of our father, we have created a GoFundMe to help cover funeral expenses. Any donation will be greatly appreciated and we thank you all for keeping our father and family in your thoughts and prayers. We are so grateful for all the love and support we have received during this difficult time.
Since our father knew many in the community, and was involved with several organizations, we have made the mass and memorial open to his circles to come and pay their respects. We will begin with a Mass at National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe Sacramento on Thursday, February 19th, at 11am. Immediately following the service, we will transition to a Memorial Celebration in the church.
