Aloha, my name is Kaluna Spencer. I am the grandson of Aunty Katie Moa. Grandma was a beloved member of the Nanakuli community. She was the youngest child to one of the first founding families who settled when the homestead was first being developed in the valley. She made her biggest impact in life as the community mom, through her work as the Parks and Rec's Director for 30 some years before retiring and spending the rest of her life keeping active with her family and church work. Grandma was a gem to all she came across. She would always make people feel loved and welcomed. Her smile and cheeky personality illuminated every room she walked into. She would relentlessly gift others with others with a song and a word of encouragement. Always pointing them to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her legacy was one of faith, hope and love. The greatest of these being love. Your gifts will help us, however small or big, to give Grandma the grandest send off possible that she toiled so hard for and so rightfully deserves. We know there are so many of you out there who wanted to help. And this is one way we, the immediate family, greatly appreciate. Especially for those whom cannot physically be here at this time. We solicit, above all, your prayers. As Grandma would often sing, "Prayer is the key to heaven, but faith unlocks the door". She graced this world with 95 beautiful years. And fought the good fight until her last breath that was shared, being surrounded by all of her loved ones. We lost a big part of our family, our community and one hearts. May God fill the void that has been left in her wake. And give us all the comfort and strength that we need to carry on her legacy, sharing the love of God with the world. We humbly thank you all in advance. May the Lord bless and keep you. And return unto you a blessing a hundred fold. We appreciate everyone from the bottom of our hearts.
