Supporting the Family of Arthur Fernandez Jr.
Dear friends my name is Patricia Diaz, I am Art Fernandez maternal aunt. On June 5th, our family’s world changed forever when Art and his 10-year-old son Arthur were tragically taken from us in a horrific accident. While traveling home from a friend’s house, they were struck by a Cal Fire engine that was responding to a call.
Art was an extraordinary father, brother, nephew and grandson. Everything he did, every single day, was for his sons. He said it and he stood by it, he was a father first. He poured his heart and soul into being the best dad possible, leaving behind a beautiful five-year-old son who will now grow up without his father and big brother.
To me and my husband, Art was more like a son. He and his siblings lost their parents several years ago so my husband and I stepped in to fill the role of parents to him. This loss is immeasurable. Our family will never be the same.
The sudden nature of this tragedy has left our family in a state of shock and grief. We are struggling to process this immense loss, and we are now faced with the unexpected burden of funeral and burial expenses.
We are humbly reaching out to our community for any assistance to help lay Art Fernandez to rest. Every contribution will go directly will go toward his burial and memorial costs and easing the financial burden of this loss. In addition to the funeral memorial costs we are hosting a reception for family, friends and Co workers. We also would like to host a celebration of both his & his sons lives that would include the communities they were part of.
If you are unable to donate, we ask that you please share this page and keep our family—especially his five-year-old son Mikey—in your thoughts and prayers.
I thank you for your kindness, support, and generosity during our darkest hour.
