Sergeant Armando Fernandez Meneses was a honorable man, a veteran, sheriff, band dad, martial arts master, guitar player, and most importantly a family man with a golden heart. He was a strong fighter, a warrior. He unfortunately, lost his battle to a COVID related illness on February 16th, 2021.
A recipient of the medal of valor, he is a hero and a mentor to many. His bright smile and unique soul will always be remembered by us all. He left a loving and memorable impression on every person that crossed his path and truly lived his life with a genuine, golden heart. Armando will be so dearly missed by the many people who love him. In his 60 years, Armando achieved countless incredible accomplishments as a UCLA graduate, 12 year Army Airborne paratrooper, 25 year veteran of the Sheriff department, Black Belt Martial Arts Instructor, Ralph’s Customer of the Year, and of course father of the century.
In response to those who have asked us “how can we help?”, this GoFundMe account has been created. Funds received will not only help with burial expenses, but will also be used to keep Armando’s memory and legacy alive. Funds will be donated to charitable organizations, such as Calvary Chapel Downey and the Honoring Our Fallen Organization, who have assisted us in honoring Armando the way he would have loved to be remembered. Armando cherished giving back to his local community and church every Sunday, and his family would like to keep that tradition alive by donating any extra proceeds to the church. Any support is deeply appreciated by the Meneses family through these difficult times. They are extremely thankful for the abundant amount of love, prayers, and support! Armando’s legacy will live on in aloha spirit as he is finally at peace in paradise! With your help and support through this all, Armando’s memory will be honored and eternal.
