With heavy hearts, we’re reaching out to a community of friends, family, and anyone who may feel led to help us fundraise for burial costs as we prepare to lay our Mother and Grandmother to rest.

Argentina Alvarado-Rivera was born July 14th, 1934, in San Juan De Sabinas, Coahuila, Mexico. She was the second born of 8 children; 4 girls and 4 boys. After marrying Felix Alvarado on January 6th, 1957, they went on to have 8 children of their own (5 girls, 3 boys). They left Mexico in the 1960s for Southern California, became citizens, and established a beautiful home together with their children.

Argentina was known as a very caring person since youth, always doing her best to care for others. She was a Mother of mothers, even playing a significant role in helping raise some of her nieces and nephews. The home she built had an open-door policy for everyone. It was a loving and warm environment. It drew a crowd of family and friends who gathered regularly. The home she built was a shining centerpiece and a safe place for so many.

Throughout the years, especially during the holiday seasons, she would take gifts and groceries to loved ones or anyone she knew had a need. She was a talented cook with incredible recipes. Her homemade tortillas were legendary. She was a fashionista who cared about dressing up. She loved to shop—an understatement at best. She loved deep reds. She has 22 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. She was a self-trained botanical genius who found peace and joy tending her garden till the very end.

Argentina was a woman of faith who always did her best to demonstrate her love for God. She enjoyed attending Church, and her devotional time was invaluable to her.

While there is so much more to share about Argentina, we wanted to take some time and share a glimpse of her story.

Argentina went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 15th, 2025 in the comfort of her own home in the company of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
