Honoring Anthony Austin's Legacy

Anthony I. Austin, Emmy Award-winning media executive, visionary filmmaker, and beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully in Brooklyn, New York, surrounded by family. He was 63.

His wife and family are asking for help to lay Anthony to rest and help lighten the burden in this unimaginably difficult time.

The funds raised here will go directly toward Anthony’s funeral and burial expenses, and will also provide immediate support to his widowed wife, Natalia, and their 8-year-old son, Derry. Natalia is navigating life in New York City, working hard and learning English, while raising Derry, a bright and gifted boy. The support will help ensure Derry has the resources he needs as he grows up without his father.

Anthony's mission was to amplify underrepresented voices, especially those of Latino and African diaspora communities, through stories that matter. His team-based philosophy, technical prowess, and multilingual storytelling made him stand out in New York’s media landscape.

Born in Reading, England, to Victor and Enid Austin, Anthony emigrated to the United States, became a U.S. citizen, and built a prolific career in the television and film industry, blending artistry, innovation, and cultural pride.

He was the founder and CEO of ELE Productions, LLC, and the creative force behind En La Escena / On The Scene—the first trilingual TV entertainment platform dedicated to elevating Latino and Caribbean culture in New York and beyond. He was a filmmaker, mentor, and pioneer who opened doors for marginalized voices in the media.
