My name is Rosemary. I am fundraising for my 10yr old Niece Angelica. Angelica was born with Short Bowel Syndrome (SBS). She was abandoned by her mother and adopted by her paternal grandmother. Against all odds and with lots of LOVE, CARE and medical intervention, Angelica survived past the 5 yr life expectancy. She received most of her nutrition through a PICC line, essentially a catheter connected to her chest which sent proteins and other vitamins directly to her blood stream and heart. This very line which kept her with us for 10 years, ultimately led to her being on Life support and having brain death.
On Friday, January 23,2026, Angelica lost all ability to move and spiked a fever. While dressing her to take her to the hospital, she vomited blood and became unconscious. Once at the hospital she remained unconscious, convulsed and had a heart attack and continued to throw up blood. She was immediately intubated. Since then, Angelica has been on life support and her organs have shut down. She had been kept on life support due to the snow storm, to allow family members to reach the hospital and say their goodbyes. Unfortunately, she was disconnected this morning and her body did not respond. She was officially declared parted at 8:07am.
I have contacted several funeral homes and cemeteries and have found the total cost of these services are approximately $11,000, not including snow removal charge to clean the plot once it is purchased.
My goal is a little high, but, I do ask that if you can not donate you keep us in your prayers. Burying a child is one of the hardest things to do!
Thank you.
