Andy Lane passed away unexpectedly September 5th, 2024 in Hayfork, CA.
Andy was just 62 years old and leaves behind his 4 daughters and his 8 grandchildren. Andy was a well respected cowboy, horse trainer, and farrier.
These funds will go to Andy’s cremation cost and any other final expenses. Any remaining or additional proceeds will go to Andy’s celebration of life.
In the 80’s, Andy helped his father, Doug Lane with the pack station in Orick, CA. He learned his training and farrier skills during that time. Andy also was an incredible chocker setter for a local logging company.
In the early 90s, Andy moved his family to Siskiyou County where he landed his first big job training 50 colts aged 3-4 for a local rancher. This gained him popularity and a name in the farrier world.
Andy competed with his horses and mules in many local fairs wining numerous prizes. He was always ready to saddle up for the local parades.
Andy was a lover for antiques whether it was guns, cars, bottles, or coins he had a little (or a lot) of each.
Andy moved to Hayfork in 2003 and lived his final years calling it home and helping raise his daughters.
Andy is missed terribly, we extend a huge and heartfelt thank you to anyone who donates and shares this on social media.
