We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of my father, Andrew L. Beyal, on 10/13/2025. He was 80. My father was critically ill for the past 6 months in ICU. Unfortunately, he sustained a head trauma from a fall that caused a brain bleed. He required 2 brain surgeries due to a brain bleed & unexpected brain aneurysm. Sadly, the second brain surgery left him mute and motionless, this led to him requiring a feeding tube, a ventilator, a tracheotomy, & dialysis. Issues from feeding tube & tracheotomy caused aspiration pneumonia, he battled pneumonia throughout his stay. Various health complications after the brain surgeries in conjunction with challenges with Dementia, led to his passing. He wishes were we do everything we can. My father fought & showed remarkable strength throughout his illness.
By my father's side was his wife, Annie Beyal. My mother & father fought so bravely & valiantly side by side for 6 months, while he was hospitalized. My mother’s love & efforts for my father were unwavering; she had every faith in my father that they would walk out of the hospital hand in hand & return home together. Andrew & Annie have been married for 52 years.
My father was a strong, hardworking Navajo man. He always protected and provided a stable and loving home for our family. He worked very hard, day & night for the Indian Health Services for 45 years as an emergency medical service driver & housekeeping supervisor before retiring. He had a passion for riding horses, saddle bronc riding, & ranch work. My father was one of the biggest Dallas Cowboys fans. We will miss watching the games with him. While in the hospital, my dad also became a great-grandfather. He was not able to meet his great-granddaughter, but I know she would have brought him much joy as all his grandkids did. He embraced & lived for them all. The smile he had for his grandchildren could be seen for miles; he was a wonderful role model to them.
Andrew is a very much beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, & uncle who made a significant impact on those around him. My father worked without complaint and gave so much without asking for anything in return. He lived a life full of love & compassion for others. My father would work double-shifts & find the time to be cheering at our basketball games. My father had an instrumental role with providing me opportunities to help others through my volunteer work with the MMIP (Missing, Murdered Indigenous People) Crisis and search and rescue. My parents were unable to have children, they adopted my sisters & I. They taught us what unconditional love is. They may not have given us life, but they made our lives worth living. The many teachings from my dad are a testament to the man & person he is, and the woman I have become thanks to him. His teachings will forever be reminders of the love, dedication, & guidance he unselfishly gave to others & our family. My dad was a true blessing in my life & my hero!
We would love to give him a fitting memorial. Unfortunately, we were not financially prepared for the funeral expenses. We were expecting him to return home to us. My dad was not in a local hospital in his hometown, he had to be transferred to another hospital, for this reason all of our expenses went to traveling to and back from the hospital, car rentals, hotel rooms, food, and gas. My travels were every weekend from Phoenix so that I can switch with my mom to watch my dad so she can rest and to help my mom advocate for him medically . To help with costs, we are reaching out for support. Funds will be used for the following expenses: funeral home, cemetery, church facility use, flowers, and reception. Any & every contribution helps.
In this time of heartache and sorrow my family & I extend our heartfelt gratitude for your kind & comforting words, generous donation, & love. Your presence, thoughts, prayers, & donation are an important source of strength, solace, & a beacon of light during this very difficult time.
