My name is Damien Gomes and I never imagined I would be writing something like this. Recently, my father Andrew Gomes passed away in a tragic and unexpected way. Our family is still trying to process the shock and pain of losing him so suddenly.

My dad was an important part of my life. He wasn’t perfect, but he was my father, and he mattered very deeply to me. Despite his struggles emotionally he had a kind heart and meant a lot to those who knew him. This loss has left a huge hole in my life that I’m still trying to understand because I didn’t get to spend the time I wanted to with him I was too busy trying to grow up and make him proud, but In reality I should have been there for him more.

Along with the emotional weight of this loss, I’m now facing the financial burden of arranging his funeral. I want to give him a proper service and a respectful goodbye, but I simply don’t have the resources to do it on my own.

I’m reaching out for help during one of the hardest times in my life. Any donation—no matter how small—would mean so much and would go directly toward funeral expenses and honoring my father’s memory.
