Honoring Andres: A Legacy of Love and Resilience
Donation protected
Andres was a pretty nerdy guy; he loved video games, WWE, and anything to do with the horror genre (I think I got that from him). He loved watching movies and playing Cards Against Humanity with our mom and our big sister.
Andres passed peacefully in his sleep at only 24 on September 23rd.
When he was just 4 years old, he got HSP, and there was a 10% chance of it hitting his kidneys.
And it did. After it hit his kidneys, he suffered through doctors, surgeries, being poked and prodded, and many, many E.R. visits. He hated all of it, but he wanted to get better.
When he was 13, he got denied for a kidney transplant. Not because no one was a match, but because he was depressed. Who wouldn’t be depressed if they knew they were dying?
At the end, Andres was surrounded by unconditional love from his family and his friends. (I still can’t thank you guys enough for being here for him).
