Hello everyone, I’m fundraising to cover my mother’s funeral expenses and autopsy service. My mother, Andrea, died at the age of 49, on Monday, December 1, due to medical malpractice. She died a day before my birthday, leaving behind me, my 2 brothers, sister, her beautiful grandchild, and another on the way. My mother had a gallbladder removed on November 3, and began having complications right after her surgery. After reaching out to her surgeon, the doctor and nurses dismissed her excessive buildup of liquids and inability to eat. We rushed her to the emergency room after her condition worsened, where she was seen by a second hospital. The staff advised my mom to seek legal help because they confirmed that her surgeon damaged her internally. We feared this was the case because before her surgery, she did not exhibit any of the medical complications she died from. After the second visit, she was released to us on Thanksgiving, but was rushed back 3 days later. Her condition continued to worsen; she could not sleep, eat, and stopped breathing to the point she went unconscious when the ambulance was rushing her to the hospital. Unfortunately, my mother died in the 3rd hospital during an intensive surgery. According to the surgeon, she asphyxiated. The staff was helpful but would not disclose the cause of death, nor did they give us the option of an autopsy.

Thus, my family and I are seeking any donations to assist us with the cost, and finding justice against the malpractice my mom experienced.

Hola a todos, estoy recaudando fondos para cubrir los gastos del funeral de mi madre y el servicio de autopsia. Mi madre, Andrea, murió a los 49 años, el lunes 1 de diciembre, debido a una mala práctica médica. Falleció un día antes de mi cumpleaños, dejando atrás a mí, mis 2 hermanos, mi hermana, su hermosa nieta y otra en camino.

A mi madre le removieron la vesícula el 3 de noviembre y comenzó a tener complicaciones justo después de su cirugía. Después de comunicarse con su cirujano, el doctor y las enfermeras minimizaron la excesiva acumulación de líquidos y su incapacidad para comer. La llevamos de emergencia después de que su condición empeorara, donde fue atendida en un segundo hospital. El personal le recomendó a mi mamá que buscara ayuda legal porque confirmaron que su cirujano la había dañado internamente. Temíamos que este fuera el caso porque, antes de su cirugía, ella no presentaba ninguna de las complicaciones médicas por las que falleció.

Después de la segunda visita, fue dada de alta en acción de gracias, pero fue llevada de urgencia 3 días después. Su condición continuó empeorando: no podía dormir, comer, y dejó de respirar al punto de quedar inconsciente mientras la ambulancia la llevaba al hospital. Lamentablemente, mi madre murió en el tercer hospital durante una cirugía intensiva. Según el cirujano, ella se asfixió. El personal fue amable pero no quiso revelar la causa de la muerte, ni nos dio la opción de una autopsia.

Por lo tanto, mi familia y yo estamos buscando cualquier donación que nos ayude con los gastos y con encontrar justicia por la mala práctica que mi mamá sufrió.
