Honoring Amanda Wright’s Life and Legacy

We are heartbroken to share the sudden and devastating loss of Amanda Leigh Wright, who was born on February 19, 1980, in Anchorage, Alaska, and passed away on April 24, 2026.
Amanda was so many things to so many people—but above all, she was a devoted and loving mother to Blake, Heath, and Lorelai, and a proud grandmother to Paisley. Her love for her children and grandchild was endless and unconditional, and they were truly the center of her world.
She is deeply loved by her parents, Cindy Ward, Arthur (Art) L. Ward III, and James (Jim) W. Wright, along with countless family members and friends who are struggling to process this unimaginable loss.
Amanda dedicated her life to serving others through her work with Oregon Emergency Management (OEM), the Oregon State Fire Marshal (OSFM), the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (OSFW), and the Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA). She was known for her incredible work ethic, her reliability, and her ability to take on anything with determination and strength.
Outside of work, Amanda had a vibrant, unforgettable personality. As a child, she loved playing sports and naturally became the entertainer in every room she entered—a role she carried with her throughout her life. She brought people together through movie nights, board games, camping trips, and spontaneous adventures.
She found joy in life’s little things—thrifting, junk hunts, shopping, reality TV, and expressing herself through makeup and hair. Her organization skills were unmatched; she was the queen of to-do lists, always planning, always making sure everything (and everyone) was taken care of.
Her humor was one of her greatest gifts. She had a way of making people laugh when they needed it most, with her endless knock-knock jokes, playful “Do you like seafood?” moments, and her classic line, “I’m Miss Wright, so I’m always right.” Those small, familiar sayings are now memories her loved ones will carry forever.
The world feels dimmer without Amanda. She gave so much of herself to others, and her absence leaves an ache that words can’t fully express.
This fundraiser is being created to help support her family during this incredibly difficult time, assisting with memorial expenses and easing the financial burden as they navigate this heartbreaking loss.
Any contribution, no matter the size, means more than we can say. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page and keeping her family in your thoughts and prayers is deeply appreciated.
Thank you for helping us honor her life, her love, and the incredible impact she had on everyone who knew her.
