I'm Wendy Patterson. I am raising money for my older brother, Alvin's funeral. He recently passed from cancer.

Alvin was in the Army. He lived in many places, but he loved Cape Cod, where he was from. He established a successful shellfishing business. His employees were mostly family and friends. He loved shellfishing and being with his family. He had a wicked sense of humor but could not keep a straight face. He was forever teasing my mom until one corner of his mouth would tilt in a smile, giving him away that it was a joke.

He loved the Cape and its shores. He had health issues which forced him to stop shellfishing, cancer being one of those issues. He fought it and won. He was in remission for years. Heart issues, a stroke—he fought that and recovered. But cancer came back. He was convinced he would beat it. For two years, he struggled with treatments and endured chronic pain from it. He lost his battle this week.

He fought so hard and so long. His dream of coming back to the Cape is now only being fulfilled with his burial in the family plot.

We need to raise money to make this happen. My family and I would appreciate any and all donations. Help bring my brother, Alvin, home for the last and final time.
