Allison McKenzie Williams, a cherished friend and member of the UCSF community, is in hospice facing a terminal cancer diagnosis with remarkable courage and grace. Throughout her life, Allison has been a source of kindness, strength, and compassion to so many. As a mother, a wife, a scientist, a mentor, a friend - she is the light everywhere she goes. At the heart of her world are her beloved children, her daughter Anna (age 12), who illuminates her life, and her son Alan (age 14), who has special needs and depends on her deeply. As Allison and her husband Antoine navigate this profoundly difficult chapter, we have the opportunity to surround them with the same love and support she has so freely given to us.
