A Memorial for My Beloved Father, Alfonso Lopez

My father, Alfonso Lopez, was a true warrior in every sense of the word. He was not only the rock that held our family together, but he also lived life with unwavering charm and an unbreakable spirit. Those who knew him often remarked on his charismatic nature—some affectionately nicknamed him “yo-yo” because he experienced life’s ups and downs with a smile and always maintained a positive outlook.

Despite facing numerous health challenges since 2008, my father never let these difficulties define him. I had the honor and privilege of being his caretaker during these trying years, and while none of us were truly prepared for his passing, his strength and resilience continue to inspire me.
