On December 19th, our close family friend Amy experienced a loss that is impossible to put into words. Her 21-year-old daughter, Aleyah, passed away unexpectedly. Amy has already endured more grief than anyone should in a lifetime; Amy had two beautiful daughters, and five years ago she lost both her father and her eldest daughter, and just last month she lost her mother. Now, losing Aleyah means she has lost those she leaned on most in life, and more importantly all of her children.
I want people to know who Aleyah was, not just that she passed. She was kind, vibrant, full of life, and she cared deeply for the people around her. She was in her final year at UTEP, working toward becoming a teacher, and she loved being part of her sorority ZTA. More than anything, she loved her mom. After her sister passed, Aleyah became Amy’s support, her steady place, and the one who helped her find joy again.
This was sudden, and Amy is carrying an incredibly heavy financial burden on top of her grief. She had already faced the financial difficulties of her mom’s passing, and she is now facing all of this alone.
We created this GoFundMe because Amy would never ask for help for herself, but she desperately needs it. If you are able to contribute, every amount will go directly to Amy to help with the funeral expenses. If you can’t donate, please keep Amy in your prayers and share this to help us surround her with love and support.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for helping us honor Aleyah’s life and the love she brought into this world.
