Hi, my name is Jessica, and I’m raising funds on behalf of my family to honor the sudden and heartbreaking loss of my uncle, Alex, who passed away on January 26, 2026.

Tío Alex was the heart of our family; strong, active, and full of life. He was a beloved husband to his wife Francisca, a devoted father to their daughter Sophia, an incredible uncle, and a loyal friend. He made us laugh, showed up when it mattered most, and gave endlessly without ever needing recognition. His presence grounded us, and now, his absence has shaken us to the core.

His passing was sudden and devastating. He went into cardiac arrest while playing soccer, doing what he loved. Despite the best efforts of his friends and emergency responders, he never regained consciousness. We later learned he had an undiagnosed heart valve condition that led to complications, including kidney failure. It all happened too fast, and none of us had time to prepare.

But the deepest heartbreak belongs to his wife Francisca and their daughter Sophia. They lost their protector, their constant, their world. And for my 5-year-old son Lukas, the pain is equally raw; he lost his best friend, his hero, and the closest thing he had to a father figure. Their bond was irreplaceable. Just one day before Alex passed, he took Lukas to McDonald’s and Target—one final act of love that became their last memory together.

Alex was the glue in our family. His joy, his dedication, his love touched everyone. We are now left to honor him the way he lived: with heart, with community, and with grace.

We’re asking for support to help with unexpected funeral expenses and to create a memorial that reflects the love and legacy Alex left behind. Funds will also help ease the financial burden on Francisca and Sophia as they begin to rebuild and support Lukas as he learns to live with the absence of the man he adored.
