On March 21, 2026, our family experienced an unimaginable loss with the passing of our brother Alejandro Ortiz Jr. Alex was a hard-working person who always had a helping hand for others. He was also an avid fisherman who inspired those around him to love the sport just as much as he did. His kindness, generosity, and passion for life touched everyone who knew him. His sudden departure has left the family heartbroken and facing many unexpected challenges as we try to honor his memory and support those he loved most.
Alex spent many years working hard with dedication for three big employers, which he was very proud of. He built many friendships during his time with Sims Metal, Republic Services, and lastly with the City of Alameda.
We are raising funds to help assist with funeral services and to help with the future of his family, but especially of his minor daughter's sports and education. The expenses that come with saying goodbye are overwhelming, and we want to ensure his daughter is cared for and supported in the days ahead. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference for our family during this difficult time.
Any help is deeply appreciated as we navigate this loss and work to honor Alex’s legacy. We kindly ask you to share this information with anyone who was lucky enough to be a part of his life. Thank you for your kindness, support, and for keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers.
