It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of Agustin, known to family and close friends as Tin or Augie. He was deeply loved, and his loss has left an unimaginable void in our lives.
During this time of heartbreak, his family has been surrounded by an overwhelming outpouring of love, prayers, and support. We are truly grateful to everyone who has reached out, shared memories, and held us up during this incredibly difficult time.
Agustin was a light in the lives of everyone who knew him. He was kind, genuine, and effortlessly warm, with a calm, “chill” spirit that made people feel instantly at ease. He valued his relationships deeply and always showed up for the people he loved. He was a devoted son, a proud uncle, and a loyal friend who had a quiet but powerful way of making others feel seen, cared for, and valued.
At just 16 years old, Agustin was diagnosed with fibrolamellar carcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of liver cancer. He fought with incredible strength and resilience and overcame it, giving his family and loved ones, many more years with him—years we now cherish as an incredible gift.
Sadly, 15 years later, the cancer returned. Even through this difficult battle, Agustin carried himself with courage, humility, and grace. He never let his illness define him and remained the same kind and loving person we all knew.
Many have asked how they can help his family during this time. While funeral arrangements have been handled, the past year has placed a significant and unexpected financial burden on his parents. There were countless trips to UCSF, including emergency helicopter and ambulance transports, along with ongoing travel, lodging, and time away from work so his parents could be by his side.
This fundraiser is a way to help ease that burden and allow his parents the space to grieve without added financial stress. Any contribution, no matter the amount, is received with deep gratitude. If you are unable to give, your prayers, love, and support continue to mean everything to us.
Thank you for loving Tin, for remembering him, and for holding his family close during this unimaginable time. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
