Honoring Agustin: Support for Funeral Costs

Donation protected
Hello everyone, this is our dad Agustin. He was diagnosed with liver disease 2 years ago which took a real toll on his way of life. Since then he missed many days of work due to doctor appointments, treatments, not feeling well and other complications. For a while after he showed small signs of improvement and was taking all his medications like he was prescribed, he was scheduled to receive a liver transplant once a donor became available, this gave hope to us and our family that he would make a full recovery some day. Unfortunately he had a medical emergency on November 4th to which he was rushed to the emergency room because he was unresponsive. He had suffered a hemorrhagic stroke, for those not sure what that is it’s bleeding from the brain. Once he was there they did what they had to in order to stabilize him but they weren’t sure how to approach it. He was then transferred over to Tampa General where they ran multiple tests on him which consisted of blood tests, CT scans, and MRI’s. What they had discovered put us more on edge about our dad’s health, it turned out he had a total of 3 tumors, one on his temple and two at the lower rear of his head. Aside from this the doctors weren’t going to be able to perform a liver transplant because our dads platelet levels had been very low for the past year. This was terrifying but we had no option but to remain positive and hope that the treatments to come the following weeks would at least help get rid of the tumors. After being released from the hospital he was scheduled to get his first treatment November 18th but they didn’t have good news for us. Because of his platelet levels not getting up to what they should be he wasn’t able to receive therapy just yet and three days later he was rushed to the hospital again, he was unresponsive yet again. After being evaluated by doctors they made the decision to send him home for hospice care, there wasn’t much they could do anymore to help him. Come the next morning he was in bed still unresponsive and sleeping. Surrounded by family our dad took his last breath at 11:50 a.m. Our dad was a fighter and he fought a long battle until the end. He was loved and respected by many and will forever live in our hearts, he was such an inspiration to us with his determination, work ethic and drive and we would be eternally grateful to anyone who would take a small amount of time to donate in order to help us through this new journey and give him the proper funeral service he deserves. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read this and make any donation, no donation is ever too small and anything would be greatly appreciated.— The Dominguez family
