Hi, my name is Heather Rodriguez. On behalf of my family, I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to read Adalberto's story.

Adalberto grew up in Chiapas, México, and moved to the United States in 1994. A year later, he met Rosalina, his wife. He has 2 daughters and 2 sons. He became a grandfather to a beautiful baby boy named Ares Alexander in 2024 and recently met the newest family member, Enzo, his second grandson. Unfortunately, he has not been able to see him due to being in and out of the hospital.

About 5 years ago, he was diagnosed with colon cancer and underwent many surgeries that had a big risk to his life. He battled for 2 years to get rid of colon cancer, and with all the help we could get, he is now cancer-free.

Unfortunately, 2 years ago, he ended up in the hospital due to severe back pain. We found out he had kidney stones, which caused an infection in his blood. While many exams were done, they found nodules in both his lungs. After many PET scans and biopsy tests, we received the worst news. It was confirmed he had lung cancer. We were all devastated hearing this news after all he had gone through with colon cancer.

On October 17, 2024, Adalberto's cancer started spreading more, causing his cancer to be metastatic. Last year, he had to leave work, leaving his wife with all the financial responsibilities.

On April 5, 2026, came the day we got the worst news anyone could ever receive. There was nothing they could do. His cancer had spread to his stomach and liver, causing everything to compress together. His organs have stopped responding to him. He can no longer eat or drink, only a few ice chips. Doctors gave him few days or weeks. Now we are waiting, but meanwhile, we are enjoying every minute we have with him. This GoFundMe was created for our father's funeral expenses and to lift some weight off our mother's shoulders.
