WE WILL MISS YOU ACE!
Aloha friends and family,
It is with great sorrow and a heavy heart that I inform you all that Ace Cabangon earned his angel wings on May 17, 2024, at a very young age of 24 years old.
Ace was the third son of a dear friend, Alena Cabangon, and her late husband, Elcid Cabangon. He graduated from Kapolei High School. He was also a Culinary Arts graduate at Kapiolani Community College. While a student at the University of Hawaii West Oahu, he was awarded by the Consulate General of Japan the 2022 Monbukagakusho (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science & Technology) Specialized Training College Students (Senshū Gakkō Ryūgakusei) Scholarship. He was the only recipient from Hawaii. Since April 2022, he moved and studied in Japan. He always expressed his love through cooking, even when he was jet-lagged from an overseas trip, he would refuse to let his mom and family eat take-out foods and would happily cook them a sumptuous meal. He was a bright kid, a role model, a kind friend, caring cousin, a thoughtful son, an amazing brother to Chris and Titus, supportive brother-in-law to Abi, a great uncle to Sylas, and a loving boyfriend to Aikah (Aijia). He was so much more, and it breaks our hearts to hear of his sudden passing.
As a close friend to Alena Cabangon, I am kindly asking for your prayers and monetary donations to help support my hardworking single-mom friend. Funds will be used to help retrieve Ace's body from Japan back to Hawaii. Due to Ace's unexpected passing, Japan and US authorities are still investigating the cause of his death. Your kind donations will go a long way to help support the grieving family during this difficult time. Please help share this fundraiser, Mahalo for your prayers and kind donations.
