In loving memory of our beloved Abubacarr Darboe, who’s life was unexpectedly taken away due to gun violence.

In Islam, we believe that while a person’s life on earth comes to an end, their good deeds do not have to. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that when a person passes away, their actions stop except for three things, ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, and the prayers of righteous loved ones. This belief gives us hope and purpose even in moments of deep loss.

This GoFundMe was created in loving memory of someone who meant so much to us. Through this charity, we hope to establish ṣadaqah jāriyah a form of ongoing charity whose rewards continue to reach the soul of our loved one long after we are gone. Every contribution made here is intended to create lasting benefit for others, we are intending to to donate all proceeds to a Mosque and Orphanage in Abubacarr’s name to his village in The Gambia.

We ask that you join us not only by donating, but also by keeping Abubacarr in your prayers. In Islam, sincere prayers and charitable acts done on behalf of the deceased are a means of mercy, forgiveness, and elevated rank in the Hereafter.

May Allah accept this charity, grant Abubacarr peace in the grave, and allow these good deeds to continue as a source of light and reward for him. آمِينَ
