Abbygail Njoroge, lovingly known as Abby, was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew her. At just 19 years old, she was the oldest of three siblings and had recently completed her freshman year at UMass Amherst, where she was majoring in public health on the pre-nursing track. Abby aspired to be an OR Nurse. She was a proud Kenyan, raised in Methuen, and a graduate of Methuen High School. She was deeply involved in her church and school, loved fashion and hip hop, and was a role model to her younger brother and sister as well as her friends. Abby’s warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit made her a beloved member of her community.
On May 10th, Abbygail was involved in a terrible car accident while returning from an event in Rhode Island with two friends. While her friends and her body were miraculously unharmed, Abbygail suffered a severe brain injury. The community came together in prayer, hoping for her recovery, but on May 18th, Abbygail passed away in the hospital. Her loss has left a deep void in the hearts of her family, friends, and everyone who knew her.
We are raising funds to help cover Abbygail’s funeral expenses and to hold a memorial service in her honor. The memorial service will be held on May 24th, and the funeral on May 26th. Your support will help give Abbygail the special send-off she deserves and provide comfort to her family during this incredibly difficult time. I have been so blessed by the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from Abbygail’s community, and I hope we can continue to stand together until we honor her memory in the way she deserves. I know she is waiting for us with the Lord in paradise.
I am fundraising on behalf of Abbygail’s parents, Stephen and Sarah Njoroge who are close family friends.
