After a recent diagnosis of Stage 4 metastatic/pancreatic cancer Abbasse Bodian passed away on Tuesday December 16, 2025. For those of you who knew and loved Abbasse, he was a fighter until the end. Abbasse was already a survivor of Leukemia and esophageal cancer, but he was able to fight through and gain 8 more years with his family and friends. Thanks to many generous givers, Abbasse, his wife Sarah, and their son Talla were able to make the journey home to Senegal in November for Abbasse to see his family and home one last time. Now it is time for Abbasse to make one last journey home to Senegal to be buried in his village, Diatang. This was Abbasse’s dying request, and we are determined to help Sarah achieve this request without major financial impact. The cost for the casket and body preparation services state side is 5k and the transportation of the casket via airplane is another 5k. We have set the goal for 10k, however if funds are exceeded, they will go to Talla’s village projects that include water desalination and building a computer lab for his dad’s home village, Diatang. Talla and Sarah will be implementing the projects in February 2026.
