Funeral Fundraiser: In Memory of Evelyn Braxton
Donation protected
For those who don’t know, my mom unexpectedly passed away last July at the age of 71. It was quite a bit to take in hearing the news from across the country, and one thing no one talks about as much as they should is that the grief of losing a parent can go through so many stages when also having to think about the financial aspects of what’s next.
Anyone who knew my mom knew that she lived her life around God. She gave so much to so many Christian organizations, even when she didn’t have it for herself. She was such a selfless person and prayed over anyone and everyone she knew or heard about that needed it. The thought of going with the bare minimum for my mom and doing anything against her wishes never crossed our family’s mind in the planning process. I know that what we gave her was beyond anything she would’ve imagined on this earth, and that brings me peace and joy every time I think about it.
We were very fortunate for the funeral home to allow us a grace period while getting probate situated. Unfortunately, the probate process has been anything but smooth, and the funeral home is now in need of the remaining balance by the end of the month.
We would sincerely appreciate anything that you could give. If you aren’t able to give, please share this. Thank you for your time.
